This is a snapshot of an ongoing educational project which is designed to help people visualise the solar system and also where we are in relation to all the close celestial objects. This application is in a prototype stage whist various features and ideas are tested.
This orrery of the solar system shows the positions of all the planets (including the now non-planet Pluto) between 3000 BC and 3000 AD, with estimates of their positions outside of these dates.
We've tried to keep the use of words to a minimum to make this application as language independent as possible with all the controls being reasonably self-explanatory. Play with them and see what happens!
The default time is now (shown in UCT) advancing in real time.
